Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen having been in a relationship with an European citizen (he doesn't require a visa, just the eTA) for more than two years now. Relationship started in December 2019, and with the covid lockdown, we have been living together in Europe.
Now I want to bring him in Canada as a visitor, if he likes the way of life, I will apply for sponsorship.
The problem is the entry in Canada. He had a job, but because he is leaving, won't have it anymore, his finances are quite on the low side, and we got only one way ticket in Canada (i know that a return ticket is not a guarantee that he will leave).
He has his parents back home, a car on his name.
My salary is ok, I can provide for him while staying in Canada.
My question is, based on these, would it be far fetched that an immigration officer will deny him entry at the airport?
And what can we do in order for this not to happen. What papers can we provide if we get to a very thorough immigration officer?
He is looking for an online job, at least to prove that he has his own means while in Canada, but not sure that will happen in the two months until we go to Canada.
Thanks for any thoughts!
LE. I see i have postez this into the wrong place, i would like to delete, but not sure how
