Will My Outland Husband's PR Application Be Processed with Mine After I Receive Refugee Status in Canada?

I have applied asylum in Canada, but my husband is still in home country . If I am granted refugee status and apply for PR, will my husband’s PR application be processed at the same time as mine? Or do I need to get my PR first and then apply for him? If both applications are processed together, can my husband travel to Canada once he gets his Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR)?

I was keep reading the posts in the forum. My knowledge is that the dependents outside Canada will get their pr after you. If they are inside Canada they will get their pr at the same time like you.

Dependents of protected persons

After you get PR but within the same application. Even if your asylum claim is approved you are likely be separated for many years.

after you are granted protected person status you should apply for PR for both you and your husband at the same time- he will be considered your overseas dependant.

your application will be processed first and after you get your PR (2-3yrs from application) they will start processing his application. it takes a long time unfortunately. he cannot travel with only his COPR.

good luck!
