Will my illegal work affect my PR application?

I’ve been a graduate student for almost 2 years now. I took a leave of absence last fall for less than 150days because I was having some financial difficulties. The thing is that I had accidentally worked for about 2months during that time and when I found out it was illegal, I stopped the work immediately.

I know the new rule says that a student will be banned from applying for PGWP for six months from the time he stopped his illegal work, but this is not about applying for PGWP.

I will be graduating next winter but I have also been invited to apply for PR through skilled worker program and I’ll list my illegal work on my statement of purpose. Do you think it will jeopardize my application? What should I do? Your response will be kindly appreciated. Thanks.

You don't really have a choice. If you don't mention it and they find out you will be banned. You will have to declare it, it is up to the visa officer to decide if that is enough to reject your PR or not.
