As already mentioned I do have a question. I was wondering if I 'move' now to Canada to be with my husband who is sponsoring me and updated my address with the Ottawa VO (where I'm being processed) would I have any problems or delays with the process?

Our application was received July 4th 2014, with SA on August 27 2014, and PPR on October 2 2014. So I'm guessing at this point I'm close to getting my CORP, but after being together for almost 5 years I'm beyond ready to be moving up there, but I want to make sure there won't be any complications first.

Thanks for all your help and advice in advance.

In reality you can't 'move' to Canada. You can come to 'visit' with your husband until you get your official COPR and can then move. Based on the speed in which your application is already going, I assume you are from the US? If this is correct, then I suspect you'll have items to bring with you to Canada. You can NOT do that until you officially land, so you would have to come 'visit', pay for storage for your things, then go back to retrieve your things and then officially 'move.

I think if you wait just a few more weeks, if you are from the US, that you will have your COPR in hand. But that is only what I think, not what I know.

You're free to go be with your husband, but CBSA will reject you if they see you coming with all your stuff. You can update your address to your Canadian address, that's not a problem. Your problem with "moving" will be CBSA, not CIC. But "visiting" will be fine for CBSA.

I think Alurra71 is right - if you wait a few weeks you can do whatever you like!

I am from the US, and I put it in quotes because I do know that I cant offically move up there until I have my CORP. I know until I land there I would just be a visitor.

Though as far as you know it won't delay the processing for me to go up there and be with him and put in a change of address to his address in Canada?

Won't change it. Just make absolute positive for sure they have the new address updated in ALL of the proper places. You don't want your COPR to be sent to your previous address and have it expire or something before you even realize it.

Before you leave though, makes sure you check your eCas and such to be sure you haven't already gotten a DM. If they've already sent your COPR they won't be able to stop it, obviously :D

Why not just update the address with CIC now. That way you can make sure it is sent to your Canadian address if the COPR happens to be issued just as you leave for or just as you got to Canada.
