Hello Everyone,
Here is a bit of history from 2008. If you remember, in 2008, a reduced set of accepted occupations was introduced by CIC for the first time and ever since that the trend has continued till now, resulting in a new set of occupations pretty much every year.
The list introduced in 2008 dishearted a lot of computer professionals because NOC 2174 (Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers), 2173 (Software Engineers and Designers) and other NOC's similar in nature were eliminated. However, NOC 0213 (Computer and Information Systems Managers) was available. A lot of computer professionals tried to "fit" their job descriptions with that of NOC 0213 and got rejected.
Since this year NOC 2174 has been added back to the list, I wonder whether we will see attempts made by 2173 "guys" to fit 2174. Job descriptions of 2174 and 2173 have things in common, after all.
Please share your comments.
Thanks.
