Hi All,

As few others in the forum, i am one of the employee unable to get Reference letter from the current employer to apply for PR. My company rejected that they cannot provide any such letters which is out of company policy. I was thinking about other options and one came to my mind is to approach my client if they can provide me a reference letter with their letter head for XY duration, with my roles and responsibilities as I work in a client place.

I am not sure whether this client reference letter will work, just wanted to know your expert opinion / suggestion and what are the other options available for me. I am not sure if any one has got PR successfully with client reference letter? Please provide your valuable feedback.

Thanks,

If you have a deputation letter from your company stating that you are deputed to work at this client location with the client name and address and if you could get the reference letter from the same address letter head that too from your supervisor who states that you are reporting to him and that your responsibilities are so and so, then you stand a bright chance.

Do you have the mail from your company HR or a copy of the policy that states that they will not issue the reference letter, if yes, add that along with a covering letter explaining your situation.

When you have a whole bunch of documents to support your case, you have a bright chance to have your application accepted.

Good luck buddy....

Hi Bigbee,

Thanks for your quick response.

I have a soft copy of the letter stating my roles and responsibilities, designation, client name and work location. But not a hard copy !! these details was submitted while processing my visa application initially in 2012. To add to this i have one more letter hard copy but looks like a letter head but not (i know i am confusing here but its fact) just plain white paper printout with letter head format but signed in HAND yes signed in HAND !! This is probably because my employer is aware that employee may use this letter as a reference letter to apply for PR.

This hard copy states my current designation, my start date, but no roles / responsibilities and number of hours worked. They have clearly mentioned in the letter that if you need any further details please feel free to contact the undersigned with contact information.

Will this work ? Your suggestions are much appreciated.

Thanks

Buddy... when you say soft copy, is it a simple mail or a proper letter with company name, address, phone number and the manager name? If the soft copy is more of a scanned letter, then its good, because, I got like that only.

But, the problem is, the letter is dated to 2012, it should be a recent one. Like as I mentioned earlier, if you have "deputation" letter that states that you are placed at the client site for so and so work and if you can attach the experience letter from client, then you should be good.

Its tough, but, think about this, if you are the VO, how would you want to see the experience letter, the more the explanation (with convincing information), the better it is.

Good luck....

When i say soft copy its on company letter head in scanned format, as i mentioned earlier it was provided to me while applying for my work permit application addressing to Canadian consulate in my home country and hence it is dated 2012 :(

It has full details of my roles and responsibilities, salary and client name mentioned. I know its tough to get reference letter from client, I will just give a try and see my luck and let you know.

Thanks for your response

Good luck buddy.... the soft copy is good but since it is dated back to 2012, it will not hold ground. see if you can get the current one.
