I am an Architect aspiring for July 2012 FSW application. I have more than 7 years of full time Work Experience in my field and have done my Masters in Architecture.

However, from last 2 years, I haven't been working since I delivered a baby and so chose to spend time with him. This made me take a break from my career. I wish to not work for coming year and then I can anytime get back. Will this affect my selection decision for FSW? Do they need a continuous experience or is the break in career considered? I have a vaid reason to justify my break.

Any replies will be helpful.

Under current rules I think it should not be a problem as long as you have one year of full time employment in one of the 29 occupations, which it seems like you have. I had breaks in my employment due to childbirth/child rearing and graduate school. Just document it in the application. Good luck.

Ya, I think you'll do just fine. The requirement is that, you have at least one year of continuous full-time experience within the last 10 years, so as long as you meet this (which you certainly do), then you should be fine.

If it is one year work experience and the work you did is within the last 10 years no problem
