Hi! I completed my Bachelors from Canada in 2015, and I received a post-graduation work permit that was valid until August 2017 (duration of the PGWP was less than the usual 3 years because of the expiry date of my passport). Anyway, I went back home in 2016 and started working, and have been working ever since.
I applied for an extension of the PGWP in July 2017 - and here's where I fucked up. I didn't pay for the application and requested a fee waiver instead, and this was what got my application rejected. I lost my temporary worker status in Canada and the reason in the decision letter was that I didn't pay the application fees. I could apply for a restoration of status as a temporary worker within 90 days of the decision, but I chose not to do this. This would normally be fine, except I had submitted my application (online) as though I was still in Canada at the time (even though I wasn't). I had an address in Canada because I lived with my aunt and uncle who are Canadian citizens, and I figured the PGWP was my backup and if I got it, my relatives could mail it to me when/if I wanted to come back to Canada to work. But of course this backfired and I didn't get the PGWP extension. Immigration Canada never reprimanded my PGWP application because of it, but it's on the record with the CIC that I applied for a PGWP extension as though I was living in Canada in July 2017.
Now, I want to apply for the Federal Express Entry program as I qualify for it and it seems to be my best option at the moment, but I'm worried that the fact that I submitted an application before with essentially erroneous information, it will affect my PR application if I receive an ITA. (I got my IELTS score today and my CRS points are 446 right now, so if I submit a profile I could receive an ITA soon.) Obviously, I can't change the mistake I made last year, and I'm seriously worried this will cause them to reject my application even though I have work records and everything to prove I have been employed since August 2016.
Any advice or opinions would be kindly appreciated! Thank you very much.
