Will A Program Reinstation Affect PGWP Eligibility?

Lets say a student has maintained full time status however towards the end of their program (even after they applied to graduate), they've had to extend their study. In terms of registration/records, this means something. Students will usually term out of the program in the end (where they will no longer be considered active in the program), and if they want to continue, they will need to be " Reinstated " back into the course.

So lets say a student does get reinstated back into the course. They still maintained full-time status though.

Will this disqualify you from applying for PGWP? Or will it have no effect? Will it create complications?

Confused. Can you re-write in simple term? Is this real situation or imagination? because you used lots of "lets say"

Yeah its a real situation. What I mean by reinstate is....if a student enrolls in a 2 year program, usually they will be registered as a student in the college for those 2 years (regardless of study permit). After those 2 years have passed, their status as a student in that college will no longer be active. So if they have still not completed their program requirements, they will need to request the college to reactivate their student status in the college for the next semester.

I'm wondering if this will cause complications in PGWP.

There is nothing like College reactivating student status. Let me put this way, If you enrol for 2years but you did not complete requirement for the Diploma/Degree, provided your study permit is valid and attend full time studies, you'll be considered as a student. Complication will arise if you did not maintain full time status continuously toward completion of your program, then you are not eligible for pgwp

Sounds like you need to apply to IRCC for a study permit extension. When does your study permit expire and when will you finish your program?

That's what I thought too, but it turns out that the college will schedule you to " Term out " when you're nearing the end of your program. Or if you apply to graduate. I think its because the college has to keep updating their database to indicate how many active students they have at each semester. I talked to multiple registrars and they told me this.

And if you want to continue studying, they have to reactivate your status in the college. Otherwise the college system will regard you as " Termed out ".

I already applied for the extension and they extended it. My permit expires some time in November. I asked the college to reinstate me because I wanted to register for one of my courses in the next semester in case I don't pass it this semester. Normally I would have waited until the end of the semester, however in my college, seats get filled up really quick in courses. So I didn't want to take the risk of trying to register then when all seats might be full.
