Hi,

I know that this has been discussed a couple of times earlier in this forum and I did read them through. From what I understand it depends on the baseband supported by the mobile device which decides whether it will work or not in Canada. I also followed the links given in this thread:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/can-indian-gsm-moblie-handsets-be-used-with-canadian-sim-cards-t133363.0.html

But the thread is more than a year old and I was hoping if somebody could update me regarding networks supported by Canadian operators. I have a Nexus 5 (bought from Google Play store) which supports following networks:

2G/3G/4G LTE
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

Any help will be appreciated :)

Your phone will work, dont worry.

If it is unlocked, it will work.

Thank you for the reply :)
And yes it is unlocked, not tied up to any particular carrier. But will I be able to use it with any network in Canada or will there be any restriction with respect to supported baseband?

Yes! Just get a sim card from Fido or Rogers and it should work right away!

Great! Thanks a lot. Always good to have one less thing to worry about (and money saved) :)
