Hi. My wife landed as a PR about 3 weeks ago. We are planning to visit her relatives in Las Vegas on Aug 27. It seems unlikely her PR card will arrive before august 27. However, she still has a multiple entry tourist visa that's valid until Dec 1, 2016 (less than 6 months). Are TRV visas treated like passports where minimum 6 months validity is required to enter Canada? She has her COPR which she can show to the immigration officer at airport customs as well.

The TRV is no longer valid since she is now a PR. She can re-enter Canada using only her COPR. If she holds a visa exempt passport then flying is OK. If she holds a non-visa exempt passport, then she would need to re-enter Canada via a land border (not fly) using a non-commercial vehicle.
