I have a couple of questions that would be greatly appreciated if they can be answered. I am by birth a Canadian citizen, my wife on the other hand is an American citizen. We are done putting our package together except for the fact that we are waiting on her fingerprints/background check from the FBI. As we all know Christmas is coming up and she has a flight ticket to "arrive in Canada December 19" and "return to USA April 24". Is this type of extended visit going to be a problem. I'm just wondering if there's anything that can help her get across without them making a hassle as the last time I saw her was September 7. Things that I've done already are as indicated below:
1) faxed her a copy with a letter indicating that I take full responsibility for her while she visits in Canada over that extended period of time
2) included a copy of my proof of employment with the Canadian Forces signed by my unit's officer
3) included a pay stub of what i make monthly as it states this with my yearly salary in the proof of employment
Would it be wise to also include the receipts ($1,040) to show that we intend to send off our package once we recieve her fingerprints/background check.
My very last question which has left me stumped is how do I go about extending her stay as I've heard that it is possible to ask for an extension and if you state that you are in the process of spousal sponsorship that they can extend her stay in Canada legally up to a year.
