My wife is Canadian Citizen and i got a son who also got the Canadian nationality. Now I want her to apply for the family sponsorship application for myself. Question:

1- She visits Canada yearly to her parent house and staying with me as well. Can she mention the present residing country/address as Canada rather than UAE, in order to avoid herself from submitting proves that she is planing to go to Canada when spouse gets approved for PR?

2- Does this weaken your case if wife (as sponsor) is not living in Canada and applying while living outside?

Regards,
Phill

Rule number one: Do not lie to them. If they figure out, you may never be able to live here.

More experienced people in this should be along shortly..

First of all, It doesn't matter to Canadian Immigration Authority, whether a husband sponsor's his wife or a wife sponsors her husband.

A Canadian Citizen can sponsor a spouse while living outside Canada. This does not weaken the case. She just needs to provide letter and evidence that after your application is approved, she as the sponsor of you, will return to Canada to live in Canada and that she has the resources to support you. Remember, she is telling Canadian Immigration that she will support you for the next three years. So, she has to show assets in Canada or a letter from potential employer in Canada that she will be working once she returns. Her parents can also write letter that they will provide support.

If she was in Canada she had to provide same thing.

If she lives with you in UAE most of the time, then I would suggest to be truthful in her application when sponsoring you.

I agree with the "don't lie" advice. It's a horrible idea to lie or misrepresent any fact when it comes to immigration. Misrepresenting facts is the easiest way to complicate your file and either create much longer processing times for yourself or put yourself on the fast path towards a refusal.

Sponsorship is only for couples who intend to return to Canada to live. If you plan to the stay in the UAE, you aren't eligible for sponsorship.
