Hi all,

I hope you can help me,

My wife and I are living in the UK. My wife is a Canadian Citizen and sponsored me for permanent residency.

All is done and I now have my COPR and we are ready to move. My only questions are:

1. Does my wife need accompany me when I use the COPR when arriving in Canada?

2. The accompanying paperwork in the COPR pack suggests I need to provide proof of funds again. My understanding was that as my wife sponsored me, proof of funds is not required. During the application we were only asked to provide a letter detailing how she would support me and that was clearly OK hence the COPR. Really this shouldn't be an issue as I'll be continuing to work my uk job so I can provide pay stubs and bank statements to show income if needed. Just need clarity though!

Thanks so much in advance

Tom

1. No.

2. I don't think they actually check this on arrival, but a print-out of a bank statement would probably be enough. Or just say you already have a job.
