Wife (Sponsor) Income Question?

Hi, I recently got married to a Canadian and we are starting the PR process. My wife is about a year and a half out of nursing school and has been working as a casual nurse since last November. Due to all the wedding preparations, she didn't work a lot during the summer and has only recently started working again now that the wedding is done. Before that she was a student. So in short, is CIC going to look at her income and her bank accounts and say "She doesn't have enough money?"

If that is the case, would it be helpful for me to write a letter that includes information on my financial accounts from the U.S. (I have an inheritance nest egg)? Or would CIC not care about that?

How can I make sure that her sponsorship application doesn't get bounced because she doesn't have a lot of money as of right now?

Since she has a job now, and the potential to get a much more lucrative job as a nurse, CIC will accept her income. When you discuss your plans for your future as a couple, you and she can talk about her getting a full-time nursing job, and living off of her parttime earnings and your investments until you get a job. I would include proof of your investments here.

She does not need an income in any case to sponsor you, but showing a plan for how you will support yourselves once you have your PR helps to show the marriage is genuine, and as part of that plan showing her income, probable future income, and your investments will help.
