Hi Friends,
Just need confirmation; hopefully, I am not doing it all wrong.
My wife still has her maiden surname on her Indian passport/ Canadian DL/healthcard/PR card. We both have our spouse name mentioned on our Indian passports.
I intend to change her last name to my surname since we are applying through the citizenship process.
So my assumption is that I just need to submit the marriage certificate along with our new application. And in the application we are mentioning her new surname, along with alias/previous names. It has a section where its asking if you indent to change your name.
That would suffice, right? Do I need to get her DL and health card changed prior to this?
Post citizenship we will apply for OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) with the new surname.
Regards
Sheray
