Wife forgot to ask Work Permit on arrival

Hi Guys,

We applied for wife open work permit from Canada in, she reached the same in June 2014. She arrived in Canada in January.

Problem is she forgot to carry print out letter received from CIC that her work permit has been approved which was issued in June 2014.

All she did , she showed her worker visa stamped on passport, the immigration officer asked her what is the purpose of your visit, she mentioned here to visit husband ,instead of telling the immigration officer that she is here to join me & look for work.This resulted in the officer allowing her entry but did not issue her pink document of work permit.

She did this because she still has her job back home.

Now her plan was to travel to US for short visit as she holds US visa as well & return to Canada & finally wrap up Canada visit & return to home country in a months time.

Now please advice how can we obtain her work permit,as we fear the work permit visa will be void on her exit.

Worker Visa will not expire on next visit.

only immigrant visa will be expired, as you need to have PR card for re-entry

Thanks for the info but, we approached to apply SIN and were asked for work permit.

Now she wants to travel to US & return to Canada followed by her trip back home, as her intentions are to keep work permit active but not work here.

My question is can she request for work permit at port of entry while returning from US, will there be any complications if they deny the doccument?

PR is already applied but thats a separate issue altogether firstly we applied in december 2014 & now we are hearing applications are being returned because quota is full.

Idea is to keep her open work permit valid till its date of expiry that is in mid 2016 & also not let this cause any complications in PR application, please advice.

yes, she can request for work permit at port of entry while returning back to Canada.

Worker visa is just like a TRV.

It will not create any impact on your PR application, dont worry.

Two way i see, if she is still in canada go to airport immigration office and talk to the higher rank officer that she forgot to ask for OWP.
or ask her to travel back and re-enter and during reentering try again for going to immigration for issuing work permit.
