Wife forgot to ask Work Permit on arrival

Hi Guys,

We applied for wife open work permit from Canada in, she reached the same in June 2014. She arrived in Canada in January.

Problem is she forgot to carry print out letter received from CIC that her work permit has been approved which was issued in June 2014.

All she did , she showed her worker visa stamped on passport, the immigration officer asked her what is the purpose of your visit, she mentioned here to visit husband ,instead of telling the immigration officer that she is here to join me & look for work.This resulted in the officer allowing her entry but did not issue her pink document of work permit.

She did this because she still has her job back home.

Now her plan was to travel to US for short visit as she holds US visa as well & return to Canada & finally wrap up Canada visit & return to home country in a months time.

Now please advice how can we obtain her work permit,as we fear the work permit visa will be void on her exit.

You can contact cic by phone and describe this situation. They might send the work permit at your address.
US travel purpose, at the border, they will ask for permit if you have work visa. I visited US last December 2014 with my PGWP and my wife's Open work permit. and again returning to canada they check those docs.
