Hello. Im an undocumented immigrant living in the US. My Wife of 11 years filed for divorce before she applied for P.R. She told me my status in US may affect her application thats y she needed to divorce me to remove me for sponsoring me as her family. We have a son together and she sponsor him to be with her in canada.
We love each other so much.

Can she still sponsor me if we're to remarry after she gets her P.R?

Please Help.

Thank you so much!!

Your US status would have no direct impact on your PR application. If what you are saying is accurate, that was not a smart move. Divorcing so she can get her PR faster not only makes no sense, it would be considered misinformation/immigration fraud. They aren't dumb, if you do get remarried and she tries to sponsor you they will see that you were married before and divorced only for her PR status. She could lose her PR and get banned from Canada.

Are you currently living together? I suggest she amends her application and you either get remarried or she can sponsor you as common-law during her PR application.

What others have said.

Your undocumented status wouldn't have caused any issues with her PR application. She should have left you on the application if your relationship was still ongoing.

You can certainly remarry later. But she won't be able to sponsor you later. This loop hole was closed a very long time ago. She either includes you now or never.

if we remarry now while her p.r application is in process, will it affect her application and will CIC will see that she attempted to do a Divorce of Convenience?

Would her P.R application be denied?

I frankly have no idea. This situation is unique and I don't know how CIC will react.
