Hello,

I am Canadian Citizen. I am sponsoring my wife. She is back home finishing her bachelors. While her immigration application is being processed, she wants to come to Canada and study as an International student. She got accepted in a Canadian University for Masters as well. My concern is while our sponsorship application package is being processed, if she applies for study permit, will this affect in anyway our sponsorship application?

If anyone knows any guidelines/links regarding this, please let me know.

Thanks in advance

No impact to her sponsorship application. Go ahead and apply.

Remember that her tuition fees will be thousands of dollars more on a study permit versus waiting until she gets PR to start.

If your wife comes from the country which requires visa to come to Canada, she might be refused in permit. Try to provide as many documentation as possible to support her position on returning to home country after graduation.
