hi there,

i applied for a TRV before and we got rejected, i reapplied again with new documents...they told me its gonna be maximum for 3 weeks, i applied on 11th July...so its probably will be back on 1st of august or 2nd maximum, i went to the embassy and told them about that issue, they checked my file and told me to wait 1 week more..THIS IS INSANE.

as my flight ticket its gonna be on 3rd of august.

i asked the agency about postponing the flight date and guess what, 4000$ for postponing  (for me and my father) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will go back after 4 hours from now ( as the embassy start working) dunno what to do there but i REALLY cant delay my flight date cuz its tooooooo expensive , even if i gonna to buy new tickets its gonna be 4000$ each person (8000$ total)

and i DONT EVEN KNOW YET IF I AM GOING TO HAVE THE F******* VISA OR NO !!

i will go there but dunno what to say, and is it possible to get the visa today when i explain them the issue?!

need advices please :S :S :S

hope u all dont experience whats happening to me now :S

Sadly, the VO have the final decision and it is usually proving your ties to your home country that it all comes down to. Sorry this doesn't help you this time around, but if anyone is planning to buy plane tickets before getting the visa, make sure that they are fully refundable.

Don't blame the consulate. Its your mistake and that's why you are in trouble.

The consulate says two things, that you completely ignored.

1- Processing times listed are an estimate, they can vary based on individual case.
2- DO NOT make any plans before you get a visa stamped on your passport.

In your case, you ignored both of these warnings.

Proving your ties to your home country. Probably the first and foremost criteria for getting a TRV. Look at it from the perspective of the VO. You are a student enroled in university. The VO will say you can walk away from that. If you don't go back to university what will you lose? The other items are not yours (father's work/house/money; sister's money) so there is very little to compell you to return home in the eyes of the VO. I truly hope you get the visa, but you have to be realistic about your chances. When you applied the second time and they said it would be three weeks, they didn't say you would have the visa, but a decision. I have my fingers crossed for you. Good Luck. Let us know how you do.

thanks alot pippin,

i went to the embassy and they told me they r getting alot of applications this month , i met one of the employers in the embassy office by luck !!

they told me alot of ppl like u got this issue and we can't help them.

anyways she told me to wait for 1 week or 2 week maximum and about my chance getting the visa is unknown as she herself doesn't know what criteria does the VO consider !!

i provided a strong cover letter telling them that my sister cant come to Egypt as she hardly can get vacations as she works in petroleum company.

today is my flight date which i missed it. its very awful when u know that ur plane is leaving cuz u didnt get the visa yet :S :S :S

and btw, TRV applicants...its better to provide the flying ticket as it is from the documents that support ur situation !

thanks pippin again :)

Plane ticket must be booked when you got the VISA stamped in your passport. Do not buy ahead... The ball is round and we cant always say we are at the top.. They are times that we goes underneath. Goodluck!!
