Hi All,
This forum is very helpful! I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into why my family was refused a TRV.
My family consists of my parents and my younger brother. They live in Honduras.
The reasons for refusal for the three of them are the following:
-Your travel history
-Your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
-Your current employment situation
-Your personal assets and financial status
-I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated
purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.
The first two reasons I understand since my family is not wealthy. They don't have properties or lots of assets, but they do have a steady income.
However, my status in Canada is Permanent Resident and as a host I pledged to cover all the costs related to my family's visit to Canada. I indicated this in the application and I provided proof of my income, which is high enough to support their flights and their stay in Canada, which would be for only 3 weeks. So I'm confused as to why they gave "Financial funds and personal assets/income" as one of the main reasons for rejection. Why?
Regarding travel history/family ties, I know my family doesn't have proof for that. Does that mean that my family won't be able to visit just because they are not rich?
We are very sad, and I'm thinking of getting a lawyer and applying again. However I heard it is a lot of money?
Any input would be much appreciated!
Thanks
