It’s been 4 months and still no response, I already delayed my classes from the fall intake to the winter intake and classes are starting in January!
Anyone knows what’s with the delay?!

Depends where you are applying from? Are you applying from country of citizenship? Eligibility/background passed? Are you going to a public DLI or a private “university mill.”

I have my biometric checked and my medical exam passed as well.
Biometric was on July 11th and Medical exam was on August 16th and got response the same day and passed. I was supposed to be with the fall intake but I haven’t had any response until then so now I’m willing to be present at the Winter intake.
Also, my university is private.

If UCW, it is a school only attended by international students and no one except those on this forum have ever heard of it.

Are you attending the Algoma U campus in the Soo? Or a campus in Toronto area partnered with a private school. Starting in 2024, IRCC is going to be cracking down on many private schools and may not be issuing DLIs. Look at what has happened in Quebec as many schools have had their DLI revoked.

Not only international students, canadians as well, it’s not as popular as harvard or UBC
Have you visited the school? Comparing it to Harvard is hilarious. It is a private university that anyone can get admissions too, and no Canadian business or high school student has heard of it. It would not even be listed in the top 50. In fact, it is 85 out of 100.

It’s a private university in Vancouver BC, my sister finished her masters there as well as other people that I know and none of them has faced this delay! I’m not comparing it to Harvard, I said that it’s not as famous!

Yeah gonna attend Brampton from Jan 24, but Quebec seems to be promoting French and I've heard they tried to double the fee for English students

Nothing to do with French, Quebec has so many private college mills and the government started cracking down. Think you will see this over the next year a crackdown across the country as IRCC doesn’t approve as many study permits and private schools lose DLI status. Quebec has doubled fees for out of province, domestic students which impacts McGill (example) as it is a predominantly English university.

Most Canadians and employers have never heard of the university. The fact that you know many people who attended yet I didn’t know about the school until I became involved in immigration is the big issue. Would assume the percentage of international students registered on the school is over 50% but maybe even 75%+. There are many public universities that are primarily known by people in the province or surrounding provinces and the large and most prestigious are typically known national wide.
