Has anyone gotten a working holiday visa and not purchased insurance? Were you asked for proof from border security when entering Canada? Or has anyone been granted a permit only for the duration of their insurance? Tell me everything!

I purchased insurance before I entered Canada but no one wanted to see proof of it at the POE.
Actually no one ever asked for it. Now I'm covered by MSP and cancelled my insurance.

I was told to bring proof of insurance with me but was never asked for it. The border officers are more concerned about you violating the terms of your stay than about you breaking a leg, however if they do ask and you don't produce they will more than likely turn you away.

Actually one of friends was asked at the border for a proof of the insurance. He did not have it but he called the insurance broker (biis.ca) and got the insurance coverage by e-mail. Then they let him enter Canada. So you never know.
