Have tried looking for hours for info on this and keep getting different answers. Really hoping someone here can help. My daughter is currently in Canada on an Australian passport. Her Working Holiday Program visa expired last month. She had a job she really liked but has had to terminate due to expiry of SIN. It's unlikely she could could get an LMO for a work visa. I've read that it will take about 7 weeks to get another WHP because a Federal Police check is now required prior to the WHP being processed.

Our question is can she still stay in Canada without getting a visitor's visa? I've read that she can for up to 6 months as long as her passport remains valid as Australia is a visa exemption country. But I've read differing opinions. She will be returning to Australia in a month or two and we don't want any issues at immigration.

Thanks for reading and hope someone can give a true answer.

1. Her status expired last month, she is now without status in Canada. She will either have to apply for restoration as a visitor or leave. She has to activate her WHP at a border office.
