Hi,
Here's the riddle.

Me: Australian, Valid to apply under work experience in CEC. My degree is Australian
Wife: USA, Valid to apply under work experience in CEC. Her degree is from a Canadian college.

Any thoughts on if Wife's Canadian degree will lend more 'credibility' to our application under the work experence CEC program? We've both been working in Canada for 5 years.

Other catch is now she has to take an IELTS (we only just found out) and it seems her FBI check will expire before she can get the results. Any idea on how to proceed on this as well?

Thanks for the advice
Stuart

I don't think it matters - I think Aussies are "more equal" than us Americans in the eyes of many Canadians. If your application is ready to go, by all means, submit. Did you already take the IELTS? I still can't believe they did that, and am so glad I got my application in before the rule change.

As for the FBI cert, that is a PITA too. The only thing that can be done is to re-apply for a new one ASAP. Make sure she puts her SSN is on the application. And it probably wouldn't hurt to include a copy of the old one. Don't know if it will speed things up, but if the FBI gets really pissed off at having to continuously process new certs (I had to get 3 before I was finally able to submit), things might improve.

Thanks for the reply.

So after some calls to a most helpful quebecquois at the call center today (sometimes it's a mixed bag, today was good). We'll be waiting for the FBI check to come back in. so another 6 weeks at least before we apply :(

I think we'll keep going with the wife as primary, as it can only lend more credibility to the application. Hopefully a nice Aussie husband will ease the process some more. on the trackitt website USA and Aus get about the same processing time it seems.
