WHO IS VFS GLOBAL?

Just about to send my application for a PRTD. Looking for the address of the visa office on the official CIC site I have been redirected to what seems like an intermediary organisation called VFS Global who I've never heard of. They have a whole collection of fees that turn the $50 PRTD application into something costing more like $150!

Do I have to go though these guys or can I just mail my application direct to the visa office?

VFS is Visa Facilitation Services. It is a private company that handles the visa processing of several countries. Countries make the decisions themselves but they outsource the processing to VFS like submitting forms and passports, collection forms and passports, taking biometrics, collection of fees.

PS: You will have to pay a service charge to VFS over and above the other fees.

To the best of my knowledge you will have to go through VFS.
