Who is applying for citizenship (application submission) this June 2014?

I just registered today so as I can reply to this post. I was checking this fabulous site for quite sometime
Though.
To answer your question, I am INSHALLAH applying this June 2014 and yes, I can only do so if God wills. Let's joint our effort, help each other as much as we can and let's not forget to seek the help of God. Seems this gonna be a long Journey so I'm checking the engine, the wheels... to make sure everything is ready for D day.

your first long absence may be tricky. you can't say that you were absent to sponsor your wife, since you have to file the sponsorship from canada. being out for 5 months just to meet family may not be sufficient reason.

i am not trying to put you off, just stating issues that may be obvious to the officer.

i wasn't absent to sponsor my wife, The main reason is to get MARRIED and indeed I got married during that period then I came back to Canada with all necessary docs to start the sponsorship process. All this can be verified.

i understand that you got married, but my point was that you can't write the reason of absence as "to sponsor wife".

By the way, for that period should i list my address in Canada or overseas when they ask to list all addresses for last 4 years? I guess I wasn't residing, studying or working

the easy answer would be whether you were paying rent or mortgage in canada at the time? what about mails? for a gap that long, i am inclined to say you may have to give the overseas address.

can apply on the exact date or give it 10 more days b4 filing.

i was going to be eligible to apply in late may but due to no alternative ways to change my planned trip, i will wait to apply until late june/july. The exact date will depend on when CBSA send me the back the record of entry. This piece of document proves to be a strong evidence to show citizenship officer how long a PR has been absence from Canada. Like i have said it many times, submitting a completed application with loads of supporting documents, something ridiculous like translation of stamped on passport from a non-english country( i think its absurd that they cant tell from the date on the stamp and waste applicant's time and $ to get it translated).
anyway, cant complain too much on how broken the system is n it only takes the government 1 simple step to solve the issue. Learn from AUSTRALIA, who stamps on passports when someone is entering and leaving the country so PR has no way to hide the date of absence. their citizenship application process only takes months! one of my friend, get his Australian passport in 2 months!
feel sorry for us but hey, it is getting better, isnt it? I certainly hope so

So far no news, he laws might be effective this June or beyond, so far the bill still in the second reading, which is not yet finished , probably this June the new regulation be effective
