Hi,

I was just wondering who receives copies of my medical exam? The last thing I want is my future father in law looking through my medical report and finding that I have an std.

Also, if you have an std and its not HIV or AIDS, do they still report it and is it grounds for denial? I would think not, but just checking.

Thanks!

Canada Immigration requires medical exams to detect diseases existing in applicants that could cause an epidemic or for which necessary medical care (which is provided by the government on the most part) could be extremely costly. They are generally looking for Aids and HIV and Tuberculosis or anything else that could cost a lot of money in treatment. As far as your father in law, I doubt that he would be allowed the opportunity to review your medical records or any other documents generated from your efforts to immigrate. STD's????? I dont know. I certainly hope not!

Best Wishes!!

I'm pretty sure its just the immigration official and the doctors that looks at your medical exam.

You don't think telling you father inlaw about your STD would be a good dinner time conversation? ;P j/k
Actually the I/O doesn't see the exam results, only the assessment, ie, M1, M3,M7. It goes from the DMP to the Regional Immigration Medical Officer, who makes the decision on the results.
