Who can I contact about the status of my application?

Hey again. My IEC work permit has still not been approved. And I'm forced to fly off to Canada without it. I'm from Australia.

Who can I contact about the specific status of my application? Calling the numbers CIC has provided, and the Canadian consulate here, have only led me to automated messaging systems. How can I talk to a human being?

Is there anything I can do last minute to expedite the application process?

Have you tried emailing the sydney office? They have been amazing with replying to me - usually within 2-3 business days each time.
