Who can be the co-signer for supervisa?

Can my wife (Canadian Citizen) be the co-signer if I apply for my mother’s Super Visa? I want to show combined income.

Or does the co-signer have to be biologically related (child/grand-child) of my mother?

I am a bit confused.
