Who are these people now?? Security checks

Quick update...my husband had a security interview outland 2 months ago, after being in background checks for 2 yrs. At the interview he was told that he will have his decision quickly. They just needed to send the info back to Canada for verification. I emailed the embassy to see if there was anything new. This is what I got back...
'Please be informed that your case is still pending verification results from officials in the Modern War Crimes section, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).'

Reason for long background checks is because my husband was in the military for a year bcs it is mandatory for all men in this country.

Now I am not sure how long this group CBSA will take to respond back. Has anyone had dealing with this Agency? Any info would be great. I have seen other posts in regards to ppl waiting after their security interview, but I have never seen anything similar to this.

The CBSA is the Canadian Border Services Agency, was previously known as Canada Customs, until they took over all Immigration enforcement.
