Hi all,

Please. i need an advice from you as regards the best way I can immigrate to canada.

I have both bachelors and Masters degree in petroleum engineering from the UK where I currently reside. I don't have postgraduate petroleum engineering experience but only a 6months internship which I had with a leading multinational oil company. My postgraduate experience is in a food industry where I've worked for less than 6months.

I currently have a mature cousin who is a permanent resident in canada.

Please, which of the 60 options of immigrating to canada do you advise me to go for?

Please, let me know if you need more info.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi,

One of the thing you might want to consider which is faster. For that you can check your visa office processing times and take the decission based on which one is faster.

Federal Skilled Worker under FSW1 (8-12months) OR Provincial nomination (25-36 months) - depending on where your cousin is residing. Usually for cousins to sponsor you, i know of only PR residing in Manitoba thru the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. For FSW, you will need 1 year exp as petroleum engineer and the 67 points.

Check the cic website to check if you are eligible and on how to apply.

Good Luck!
