Which NOC matches skill most 2173 or 2174?

Need help in selecting NOC 2173 vs 2174.

I am writing to figure out which NOC matches my skills the most.I am confused between roles and responsibilities depicted under NOC 2173 and 2174.I read through the responsibilities of computer programmer in 2174 and i felt it somehow matches.Experts help is very much appreciable as it will be more precise..My job title is Software engineer.I have mostly worked on maintenance projects as C,C++ Developer and worked in unix internals in Networking domain(switches and routers) as well. Few of my roles and responsibilities include

· 1 Bug fixing and support of existing code base(writing codes on C aswell as C++).

2 Prepared technical description documents and design documents for the L3 protocols

· 3. Running unit test cases

4.Minifeature implementation in c++ and some kind of shell scripting in few projects,remote degugging etc

Which NOC fits the above roles most 2173 or 2174 ?Pls help.

2174 if no telecom experience.. confirm from others too..

I am working in Telecom domain.Worked on L2,L3 protocols,NMS/EMS,maintaining switches,routers with C,C++,Linux.
Stream:C/C++ Developer in Telecom Domain.

@cjs>Its just to confirm.Is it because its mentioned there under 2173 as telecommunication engineer?But what i am actually doing

is Writing, modifiy, integrating and unit testing written software code and mainitaining the existing code[seen these under roles in 2174] .Only thing is whatever C++ code i am writing is to support the telecom devices .This is my actual confused part.Can you just suggest pls.Still is it 2173?

I think it should be 2173 because you are working for telecommunication company and your programming software are based on telecom products.
include those telecom products in job description when u file eAPR. it should be fine.

If you are showing only programming side then 2174 is fine.

Other experts please help...

Also consider one very very important fact.
2173 is regulated profile i.e. one needs to have Canadian license in hand to even apply with this profile.
2174 is non regulated one.

@cjs and @ KnowAndShare>its not about tweaking the NOC to 2174.I just want to know which of them suits exactly my roles .Just want to go with that.I am not worried about licencing cjs.I reread NOC 2173 ,i couldnot find anything mentioned like writing and modifying the software code there under the roles.So better i will go with 2174.Also as per cjs's suggestion only part which matches my profile with NOC 2173 is that i am writing code for maintaining telecom products.So while getting reference letter i will make sure not to stress about telecom much.Thanks guys for the update.Shall i go ahead with 2174 then?
