Which Job title should I mention

Dear Friends,

I am planning apply Canada under NOC 2232 (Mechanical engineering technologist) since I have a 3yrs mechanical engineering diploma. But my current job title is Design and development engineer, and job description is fully inline with NOC2232. Do i need to change my job title when I am filling online application? What should I do? Plz advice.

When CIC evaluate your application they will check the roles/responsibilities detailed in your work experience reference letters and match them up to the NOCs listed roles/responsibilities.

The actual Job title isn't set in stone since companies don't always use the same title for the same role.

So if your role description matches up with the NOC then that's fine. If you find a more suitable NOC then naturally go for that, but if that's the closest match then don't worry.
