which is best for PR: CEC or Provincial for Post Graduation Work Permit holder

Hi,
I got three years Post-Graduation Work Permit after completing accounting diploma in Ontario. Since then, I did two full time jobs : manager in a retaill setting for six months and an accountant for six months and the accounting job is still on in Alberta.

So, should I apply for Provicial nominee in Alberta or CEC?
which one is best to get PR. Please suggest me.

First, the PNP is based on your intent to remain in Alberta - CEC is flexible in that you just show intent not to settle in Quebec. If you don't necessarily intend to settle in Alberta, the CEC may be the easier option (as you don't have to demonstrate anything).

PNP has generally been slightly faster (historically) than the CEC once you are nominated. However the nomination process added to the federal processing could make the PNP slower than the CEC. It really varies - they both usually are within the same range.

I'm not familiar with the Alberta PNP, but for the Manitoba PNP, one of the drawbacks of its international graduate stream is that, if you lose/change jobs before nomination, it could reset the process. This may not apply to Alberta.

You can apply for both the PNP and CEC concurrently if you so wish.

Since my job is in Alberta, I thought that would a point to apply through PNP.

Also it seems to me looking at CIC website that CIC has changed CEC for international graduates.
It used to be one-year work experience and two years of full-time post-secondary education. Now they are only talking about one year work experience: no need of two-year education.

Am I correct?

Yes they have gotten rid of the Educational requirement for the CEC.
I too was in your position. I graduated with a 4-year BSc and was granted a three year Post grad work permit. I'm currently in Ontario and I initially wanted to apply for the PNP but was advised to do the CEC route because it was a faster process and there was a 1000 limit on the PNP applicants in Ontario.

PNP (province + federal) will most likely take longer to process than CEC. Also CEC is more straightforward.

Then again, there's nothing stopping you from doing both at the same time.

I guess PNP is faster though it takes longer for federal PR, but you can stay in your province as long as you want once you get nominated.

You can not stay in provience as long as you want, The ANIP(alberta) is valid for 6 months and you have to apply for CIC within 6 months........

For a International Graduate You have to work for the same employer till you receive your immigration .......

But most of my friends received their nomination for ANIP within 3-4 weeks and they have applied for both CEC and CIC at the same time..........

I am planning to do the same, by applying both...........
