hi

Can anyone help me? I'm a little confused with which fee to pay.

I am about to send off my family class sponsorship application within Canada. Those forms are complete and paid for. I still have a month left on my current tIEC work permit. I have filled out the IMM5710 form to remain in canada as a worker while my application for perm residency is in process.

I am just unsure of which fee to pay for the application to change status, extend my stay or remain in canada as a worker IMM5710 form.

Renewal/initial work permit $155

Or

Restoration of temporary worker status due to loss of status as a worker $200

I haven't lost my status as a worker before I am applying so I'm guessing its the first option?

Thanks for your help

Your current work permit cannot be extended and you need to stop working when it expires, if not you will be breaching the immigration law and if you found to be working illegaly , you could be deported. What you need tomdo is to send a new application for an open work permit with your inland application, you cannot extend your current status as a worker. That means you will be out of work for at least one year. Consider your options to apply outland , as the process are faster depending on your visa office and you won't be jobless for that long. If you have an employer and you are elegible for another IEC work permit, try to get one through this route.

I believe I am able to stay and work on implied status until the design has been made on my permanent residency application. I just have to apply before my current work permit expires.

Unfortunately IECs are different from other classes of work permits and don't benefit from implied status. You will have to stop working when your IEC expires unless you have a new and approved work permit in hand.
