d_1982,

Well, I think you need to give more details for someone to give good suggestions/answers.

You can either apply from inside Canada or from outside Canada. This depends on whether your uncles wife will be coming back to Canada with him, or whether she can right away. Does the country from which she is from require a visa in order to come to Canada?

It seems as though your uncle will have to use to Family Class application from outside Canada. (this would be if his wife is staying in her home country when she applies for Permanent Residence)

The entire application (different form numbers) gets sent in all together and completed or they will send it back to you without even beginning to process it!

It is quite a long application so make sure you take your time and are very complete and accurate.

As soon as you can gather all the necessary documents you can send the application in. Make sure he reads the application fully.

As mentioned, we don't know if he intends to file inland or outland. If he is filing inland, the instruction guide and forms are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp If he is filing outland, the instruction guides and forms are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp In either case, the forms are submitted together in Canada.

Also please bear in mind that with the outland application, there are 3 parts to the application: your uncle's sponsorship application, his wife's permanent residence application and country-specific guidelines -- there is a separate guidebook for each which he will have to read and re-read to ensure he has understood everything. To be honest, it doesn't sound like he has done this, otherwise he would know where to send the forms and that all forms are to be submitted together. If he omits anything or does not fill things in correctly, there will be delays in processing his application. Good luck.

okay guys thanks alot for such info! and yes he will be applying inland. and NO his wife will not be coming with him to canada. and YES visa is required from her home country. so *frustrated canadian* you are saying all applications are sent together?

and what if there are questions in applications that you are not aware of it or doesn't know the answer of it what do you actually write? something like this > not available, or n/a, not sure?

what is the actual cost of all these applications?

waiting to hear from anybody.

Click those links and read. Some of your questions will be answered and your next questions will actually make more sense.

For instance if the wife is outside the country then you are doing an "outland" application...not inland as you say.

If his wife is not in the country with him in Canada, then he cannot file an inland application. Both partners must be living in Canada to file inland. He will have to use the outland application. This means his sponsorship application is processed here at the Mississauga CPC and then if approved, the file will be sent to the visa office of her country. Yes, ALL forms are sent together. If something is not applicable, be certain to write N/A or "not applicable". Do not leave any questions unanswered. You can find application fees at cic.gc.ca Yes, PLEASE make sure you read the instructions carefully.

Thanks ariell for deep explanation. and i am sorry to read your message *noww* to hear about your friend's father passing away may GOD bless his soul. and i have no idea about that i think some one here will be able to answer this question, i think he can drive into states? no.

i got another question regarding my uncle he is retired and doesn't make enough money to file a affadavit of support for his wife. i know he will need a co-sponsor to do that, but does the co-sponsor have to be canadian citizen or even PR holder?

and what if his son who is u.s citizen living in u.s can he sponsor his step mother from u.s?

are there any restrictions for sponsorship for instance, if uncle finds a sponsor who had already sponsored some one else in past like months ago or years ago, does that effect the new sponsorship?
