Hi,

I can't remember when for THE VERY FIRST TIME I filled the form for express entry form I picked either Ontario or Quebec.

Now AFTER ITA, I am suppose to again mention where I intend to reside. My concern is if I mention a different state will that cause any issue.

(Honestly, I dont have any idea where I want to stay but as I am in IT & Financial field most likely I would be living in Toronto as there are more jobs in that area.)

It doesn't matter what you mentioned, as long as you don't choose any city within the province of Quebec you'll be fine.

Yeah, this question doesn't serve any purpose other than ensuring you're applying for the right program. The Express Entry is not meant for people who plan to reside in Quebec (although once PR you are allowed to live anywhere in Canada) so answering Quebec (or any city in Quebec) likely will lead to refusal of your application. You need to apply for a CSQ for Quebec.

Given that you're unsure where to settle, I think it's important that you are aware of this restriction.

Is there any issue if I had picked Quebec before ITA and after ITA I mention Ontario as intended place to live in Canad ?

Why you said " so answering Quebec (or any city in Quebec) likely will lead to refusal of your application. You need to apply for a CSQ for Quebec."
I am not understanding what you mean by that.

By the way, my guess is I picked Quebec before ITA and want to keep it simple and planning to pick Quebec again.

And do you think picking different states can impact the application after getting the ITA?

Picking Quebec will lead to cancellation of your application for not having the intention to reside outside such province.

I think I am missing out some big information here, I searched online and it shows Quebec immigration is different than EE.

So I should pick Ontario right? (and city Toronto) as it has many companies, Please advise.

It means your application will be cancelled on the ground that you are not taking the appropriate steps for residency in Quebec. An Officer will declare you ineligible for Express Entry right away as you are intending to live in the wrong province.

Pick whatever you want, it doesn't matter - as long as it's not Quebec.
