I am getting last name changed on my wife's passport so that we can apply her PR. The Indian Consulate told me to get my Canadian Marriage certificate needs to be attested or so called authenticated in order to get the last name changed on her passport. And this is what they have told me
If marriage was conducted in Canada: Marriage licence issued by marriage registrar only is required to be attested by the respective Government Service office of your province (Deputy Attorney General / Deputy Provisional Secretary).
I live in Mississauga. I have not done this before, so no idea where to go. And they weird thing is when I called consulate to inquire where I can get this attested, all they have told me is "Deputy Attorney General / Deputy Provisional Secretary. If anyone have done this before, Could you please tell me where I can get my marriage certificate attested or authenticated. Do I have to go to the Ontario Court of Justice (A Grenville & William Davis Courthouse 7755 Hurontario Street)? Any suggestion or recommedations?
