Hi all,

My wife is already accepted in Canadian College next year and we are now planning to apply for student visa this November and one of the requirements is the proof of funds. We are a family of three and also plan in staying there at least a year and a half. Our challenge now is where should we borrow/loan funds amounting around 30,000CAD. We have loaned a couple of banks here in Singapore, but they can only grant around 7k maximum amount.

Any advice would be helpful. At least we can lend money for 30k for 3 months just to show we have proof of funds then we can return it back.

Thanks all!

Be aware that lack of convincing proof of funds is one of the most common reasons for visa rejection. If you have to borrow from several banks, you're not looking too good.
You can try and get a letter of financial support from a family member, like a parent, who does have enough funds. But since you are already married with a kid it also looks a bit strange.
If either of you have pay slips showing a good income that would be a good thing to include.
