I just started my work on Feb. 10, 2011 and I would just want to know when I should be filing for tax return? My employer did not orient me about this so I better ask anyone here who has idea.

Thanks

Next year in your case, for taxable year 2011.

You should have your T4 from your employer in early 2012 and then you can file.

You ask your employer through email or phone to send you the T4 when it is ready, either by mail (give them the address) or by scanning in and sending in email. Then you can use an online program like ufile.ca to file your taxes.

You can not completely file online if you are outside Canada or if you are filing for the first time but you can use the online program to fill out all the forms for you. Then you print them out and drop them in the mail.

I guess cancel subscriptions and let everybody who mails you know that you have changed your address, for example your bank. You can also get Canada post to forward your mail for a fee for 6 months or a year after you leave.
