when to apply restoration?pls help

good day to all, i would like to ask my husband situation he is a temporary foreign worker in alberta and his work permit just expired october 23, 2010, he apply to extend his work permit for his former employer but unfortunately got denied because our LMO is not valid anymore, his employer didn't apply for an LMO for some reasons and for that my husband looked for another employer and found one but we need to wait for the LMO so we can apply for a new work permit, the LMO application will be submitted this coming monday only october 25, 2010, my question is since my husband work permit is already expired and we are still waiting for his LMO, do we need to file for restoration of status immediately? or do we need to wait for the LMO first before filing our restoration? i hope anybody can help us regarding this.Can somebody tell us what is our best options?

He needs to wait for the LMO, then apply for restoration (within 90 days of expiry of current WP) and a new work permit.

It depends on the province. Anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks.

hi bad news for me, the new employer just backed off, so I am now back to zero..looking for another employer, my work permit expired october 23, 2010...do I need to file restoration of status immediately? what reason will I write ? I cannot reason now that i'm waiting for the LMO and work permit, because im still looking for a new employer....I would like to ask if it's ok to wait for an LMO before i file may restoration?..pls help me thanks so much.

You have 90 days, so you had better find an employer quickly.

Hi All,

I would just like to ask... my friend found an employer with ready LMO and the employer told her that they will just process the LMO to have her name appear on it, then afterwards, they will prrocess the work permit application once they got back the LMO with her name on it ( her new employer said, this process for placing the candidate's name on the ready LMO will take 1 week to received back the LMO) .. Now, her question is : Does she needs to file restoration wherein she was assured that the application of Work Permit will just take 2 - 3 weeks to process?

Anyone may reply would be greatly appreicated...
