When should I call? Long Processing Time

Hello all,

I submitted my application in December. They started processing it Jan 9th. My office (I think) is Vancouver though I am not certain how I can verify that. I have been checking my application status every day (and because I am high-strung, often multiple times a day). Anyway, I was looking on the spreadsheet and it seems that everyone who started processing around the same time as me in the Vancouver office already has test dates.

I am curious why I haven't heard back. Also, do they always update your information online or do they just sometimes send you something in the mail?

Yes sometimes ecas is not updated and you receive your test invite and/or oath invite via regular mail before it is updated online.

Call CIC in morning, they do not have long waiting time on phone then.....they should be able to help you

I am in the same boat. I am In Process since dec 6.
I dont know what is my local office but i live in mississauga so i think it should be mississauga office. I check my ecas multiple times a day. Maybe we should stop checking it online may it helps

There are instances where calling is good, as I know someone who called to inquire about application status because it took longer than usual to receive a letter to write the exam. Apparently there was a missing step before their citizenship application can be processed. Try to call 1-888-242-2100.

I called, they told me nothing and basically told me not to call unless I haven't heard anything by the end of April. Thanks!

I am also from victoria BC .i am waiting for test invitation since 6 January 2017 I applied in November 2016.my Friend who apply just week before me in November first week, he pass his test on January 31st 2017. Now waiting for oath latter.i called cic they told me everything is normal process time no extra documents require just have to wait for test invitation which you will be get in June or July because of victoria regional itinerant services not available right now till June or July.also she told me keep check regional itinerant services may be you get earlier.now just a waiting game all the best
