Is it possible to start the sponsorship of a live in caregiver even before a child is born? Maybe when wife is 6-7 months pregnant?
yes, its possible that you can sponsor a LIC
under the requirement in Hiring Live in Caregiver and nannies (www.esdc.gc.ca) it says that:
Proof of Individual Requiring Care
Employers must provide proof that they or a dependant is in need of care.
The documentation that must be submitted along with the application form includes proof of one of the following:
a.) age and parentage for each child under the age of 18 (provide one of the documents listed):
b.) long form birth certificate
c.) adoption order
d.)official guardianship, or
e.)
medical doctor's note confirming the pregnancy and the due date
but, you, being the employer, you are required first to conduct recruitment efforts to hire Canadian citizens and permanent residents before offering jobs to Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW). (under Recruitment and Advertisement - www.esdc.gc.ca ).
