Dear Friends,
I have recently completed my landing formalities and returned back to my original country of residence.
I understand that to apply for citizenship, a permanent resident must live in Canada for 3 years out of 4 years. However in order to get PRC renewed, 2 years stay is enough out of 5 years.
My question is; if I live in Canada for final 2 years in the first 5-year period, and get my PRC renewed for another 5-year period, and remain in Canada for another year consecutively, then will I be eligible to apply for citizenship?
The question is further explained as follows:
Year 1 out of Canada
Year 2 out of Canada
Year 3 out of Canada
Year 4 in Canada
Year 5 in Canada (and got PRC renewed at the end of this year)
Year 6 in Canada (can I apply for citizeenship at the end of this year?)
I shall be grateful for your comments.
Warm regards,
Can10
