When do you give your passport to the Canadian people in the whole EE process ?

Hi guys ... so a simple straightforward question ... After receiving an ITA, when do you give your passport to the Canadian people for visa stamping, etc ?

How long do they keep the passport with them ?

And what initial visa is stamped on your passport ?
