When do we know if all quotas are filled?

Hi,

Does anyone know about the time when we will know if all 300 quotas are filled within a particular category? I know it runs for one year but I cant imagine certain categories remain unfilled just after few days.

My question is , is it first come first server (and qualify) basis or they will take applications until April 2014 and then draw a lottery for 300 applicants?

I am yet to apply for IELTS/Qualifiction checks etc. hence the query.

First come, first serve. Once the cap is reached for each NOC, CIC will automatically return all other applications for that NOC unprocessed. Once the overall cap is reached, all applications will be automatically returned.

When I applied in 2010, they used to update the number of applications received in each category on their website (cic.gc.ca) on a weekly basis or so.

CIC did this with the last FSW intake as well. However due to the volume of applications received, the numbers on the website were not up to date (they were often several months behind). To provide one example, I believe it took three months for the CIC website to show that 1122 had reached the cap when it actually took 5 days. I think the same will happen this year because there will once again be a huge flood of applications.

I have sent my application for FSW back in Sep 2013 and haven't heard anything from them. Definitely, my one was not within the cap! So, are they going to send my application package back to me or they will keep it and if they send it, who will pay the postage and how?

Dear scylla,

Sorry to bother you again. First time I applied from London in 2012 and my application was not processed because of Less Point according to their calculation but CIC didn't send any paper back they just sent me an email explaining everything also they charged my money. So, This time I am worrying whether they will send me or not.
