Hello

If i submit my paper based application for PNP and in the mean time I get my EE. What happens next? I know i have to withdraw one application. When will I have to do that.

-I spoke to a lawyer, he says that you can wait until they ask you for passport to withdraw.

Please suggest

One of the reasons a paper application is returned is because you have another application on file. I share a different view from what the lawyer proposed. By the time you get PPR - you'll have paid two RPRFs, done medicals. Withdraw one now. I'd withdraw the paper app

Hello tenkrun10

My situation is bit different. I got my Ontario PNP today. If I apply now, I see the processing time is 17 months.

I have also applied for Express Entry and waiting for invitation to apply. EE processing time is just 6 months.

Now, can I apply for my paper based PNP. In the mean time if i get EE i will apply for that as well. Which ever I get the medical first , apply for that and withdraw the other one. Is it a viable option?

I really do not care so much about paying double money.

Thanking you

If I were you, even after getting a medical request, I would wait until I get the passport request before withdrawing one. I say this because, sometimes after the medical request, people still have to wait months before they hear back.

The good news is, you can use the medicals for more than one application as long as it is still valid (they are good for 1 year from the date it was done). You just need to ask the DMP(designated medical practitioner) that did the original medicals to again report the same results using your the file number(or application number) on the second medical request.

For whichever application you withdraw, you will only loose $550 (if they had started processing it) but they will refund the $490 (right of permanent residence fee) because you will not be issued a PR visa for a withdrawn application.

Thanks a lot. It answers all my question. Have you done the same thing?

You are welcome! No, I have not submitted two PR applications before but I have used the same medicals for a work application and PR application.

My knowledge comes from the CEC section of the forum. A number of people there had two applications in process - CEC and skilled worker. Most of them waited for the passport request, before they sent a notice to CIC withdrawing the other application.
