When copies are requested, are they all certified copies??

Hi there,

when for some documents of the CEC application copies and not originals are requested, do these copies all have to be certified by a notary public? Or only if a document had to be translated (translation with affidavit accompanied by a certified copy of the original document).

To be more specific: If I copy my passport page, do I have to get this copy certified?

Somehow I'm a bit confused about what's written in the guide. Thanks for any help!

Yes

If it is in English or French, a plain photocopy is all you need.

Thanks jes_ON.

To add to this: I have an international birth certificate, where everything is written in german, french and english. Regular copy should be sufficient and no translation is needed, right?

All documents requested are supposed to be in either French or English. If your Birth Certificate has either one or both of those languages there should be no need for a translation.
